About this tool
Mines multiplies your payout with every safe tile you reveal — because every reveal makes the next one riskier. This calculator shows the exact combinatorics behind that curve: with m mines among 25 tiles, the chance your next pick is safe is always (remaining safe tiles) ÷ (remaining tiles), and your odds of having survived k picks is the product of each step’s probability.
The “fair multiplier” shown is what your payout would need to be, at your assumed house edge, for the bet to break exactly even — not Stake’s exact displayed number, which we can’t read from outside the game. Frequently asked questions
How is the “next tile safe” probability calculated?
Remaining safe tiles ÷ remaining total tiles. With 3 mines on a 25-tile board and 5 tiles already revealed, that’s (22−3)÷(25−5) = 19÷20 = 95%.
Is the fair multiplier what Stake actually pays?
No — it’s the payout that would make the bet break exactly even at your assumed house edge. Stake’s real paytable may be close but isn’t guaranteed to match; always check the in-game numbers before betting.
Does more mines mean a better multiplier curve?
It means a steeper one: fewer safe tiles remain after each pick, so survival probability drops faster and the fair multiplier climbs faster too — higher risk, higher theoretical reward, same house edge either way.
